Print Description: A portrait of Lillie Estes (1960-2019), a beloved Community Strategist who tirelessly advocated for housing justice, helped establish the Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building, and nurtured a generation of organizers and community leaders.

About the Series: One print in a series of 11 prints used by the JXN project as part of “Unveiling the Vanguard” - a rededication of streets and public locations to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jackson Ward. Prints were translated into large-scale banners and installed on the street. This project won a 2021 Golden Hammer Award for Best Placemaking Project from the Historic Richmond Foundation. Complete portfolios are held in the collections of the The Virginia Museum of History and Culture, The Valentine Museum, The Library of Virginia and VCU Special Collections.
